Accommodation

Woollahra Sailing Club is situated on the ferry city route. A large number of hotels are located at Darling Harbour (accessed by ferry) along with several locally. Why not experience the local beach life and stay at the world famous Bondi Beach with a casual 15 minute bike ride to the venue. 

Boat drop off 

Bump in at WSC is as below 

- Olympic Classes between 0800 - 1600 Saturday 9th December 

- Youth Classes between 1300 - 1700 Wednesday 13th December & 0800 - 1100 Thursday 14th December 

- Invited Classes & Optimist between 1500 - 1800 Friday 8th December & 0800 - 1100 Saturday 9th December 

Trailer parking will be available for boats dropped off during these times.  Trailer storage will not be available for boats arriving outside these times.

Boats and trolleys should be unloaded as quickly as possible and are to be moved to the allocated rigging area; please refer to the site-map page on the website

Trailer parking is on the grass area behind the Club.  Trailers must be unhitched on the road and pushed to trailer parking.  Cars must remain on the road. NO CARS ON THE GRASS!!

Getting to the club and car parking

There is very limited parking available near the Club.  Please travel to the event via public transport.  Do not expect to get parking at or near the Club.  There are large parking stations at Bondi Junction, Double Bay, and Edgecliff.  You may wish to park at one of these locations and then travel to WSC via bus, taxi, Uber etc.

Boat Ramp

Support boats may be launched from the public wharf at Rose Bay 200m from WSC and driving to allocated support boat mooring for the event. Support boats cannot be launched at the venue WSC

Briefings

The competitor briefing will be conducted via Video Link. This is open to Competitors, Coaches, Support boats , Officials and Volunteers. Link will be advised at a later date.

Briefings will be video recorded and posted online through Facebook for you to watch at your leisure. Click here to find the Facebook event where all info will be posted, make sure you click ‘going’ so you can receive notifications.

Cafe 

WSC Cafe – will be open and can cater for all your needs during the Regatta. 

Foiling and Kites

- Venue will be Georges River Sailing Club with racing on Botany Bay.

Insurance

AS recommends Network Insurance Group. Click here for a quote.  All competitors must be insured and hold third party liability insurance.

Mooring at the club

Official race vessels will be allowed to moor on the Club pontoon.  Mooring will be available at WSC for support vessels during the event in allocated sections only. 

Coach boats may tie up on the lines between the pontoon and the jetty.  Please tie bow and stern, and leave enough slack to allow for tide change.

Protests and protest hearings

This year we ask all competitors to lodge a protest form via the sailingresults.net app.  This is the same app you sign on/off and view your results.

Race course area

There are no obstructions or marinas to sail through in sailing from Woollahra Sailing Club to any of the racecourses. Generally, boats take less than 20 minutes to sail from the launching area to the starting area.

Foiling Boards & Kites racecourse will be on Botany Bay .  We recommend all sailors in this class launch from the host club Georges River Sailing Club for quick access to the course.   A beach marshal and first aider are onshore during the event to assist.             GRSC Rigging & Launching Locations HERE

Radio channels

Sydney Harbour Olympic Classes VHF Ch 74 , Botany Bay Courses VHF Ch 77 , Sydney Harbour Invited Classes VHF Ch 71,

Emergency channel is VHF CH 16.

Regatta office

WSC regatta office is located on the first floor during Sail Sydney. Enquires, Protests can be lodged using the sailingresults.net app.  All other enquiries to regattas@woollahrasailingclub.org.au

Registration process

You are not required to come to the Club to check your details. If you wish to make changes to your registration email regattas@woollahrasailingclub.org.au 

Scoring enquiries and protests

Please use the sailingresults.net app for scoring enquiries and protests.

All protests will be conducted via Zoom.  If you are involved in a protest a link to the Zoom meeting will be sent to the email address you have provided.

Sign On/Off

A text message will be sent to you with the mobile provided from the registration form to sign on / off.

To view the list of competitors signed on/off on your smart phone:

  • Open up a web browser on your phone
  • Go to sailingresults.net
  • Select Sail Sydney
  • Save this link to your home page
  • In the menu, there is a link to the list of competitors signed on/off, Protest / Protest Times / Results

If you are not sailing on the day please register via the app that you won’t be sailing.

If for some reason you are having issues with the sign on/off please call 0412 502 395 and the regatta office will manually sign you on/off.

Support Vessels

Support vessels play an essential role at regattas to assist with on water safety, and we welcome all support vessels during Sail Sydney.

We ask that all support vessels please register online for the event

Trailer Storage

Trailer storage is available on the grassy area west of the main Club in Lyne Park, refer to map 

Volunteering

We are still seeking volunteers for the week, so if you could please help out in any way, please register online. Please register HERE and advise what qualifications you have.
